National Networking Directory
The purpose of the Directory is to bring far-flung dancer-clients and "alumni" together in a tightly knit network, offering peer support and the benefit of professional mentoring from those who have successfully moved on to new careers. The directory is available in CTFD's resource centers in New York City and Los Angeles. Upon request, dancers who do not have access to our offices will be mailed a copy of this important addition to our transition program.

National Outreach Project
An outgrowth of CTFD's Career Conversations program, this intensive two-day career-counseling seminar series is held in cities across the United States that have a significant professional dance presence. Its purpose is to make a lasting impact on the area's dancers by bringing CTFD's mission and method to dancers who would otherwise not have the benefit of a program designed to meet their future needs. A Project Director from CTFD is responsible for overall planning and administration, including communicating the various elements of the transition process, as well as the options available for meeting the challenges of a career change. A Local Coordinator, who is familiar with the area's dance community, is recruited by CTFD to work closely with the Director in planning and managing all site logistics, and to provide essential information about the availability of local transition-related resources. Focus Groups
A Focus Group is a six-week career counseling program of weekly meetings for a group of up to six dancers. A CTFD career counselor facilitates all discussions. This supportive setting provides an opportunity for dancers to share their experience on a variety of transition topics including the career change process, career exploration, education, supplemental income opportunities, personal finance, and job search experiences. Focus Groups allow dancers to brainstorm issues, discuss options, offer solutions, and provide understanding and encouragement in a company of peers.

CareerLine
A nationwide toll-free hotline, CareerLine recognizes both the geographic distribution of dancers as well as the touring schedules of active dancers. Current and former dancers who have completed CTFD's intake interview and who meet the eligibility guidelines may call 1-800-581-CTFD (2833). Through this vehicle, dancers across the country, regardless of location, can access CTFD's career counseling and referral services. Whether making an initial contact or getting input as an ongoing client, CareerLine offers dancers coast-to-coast service. This invaluable resource is sponsored by The Nora Kaye/Herbert Ross Foundation and The Silbert Foundation.

Resource Centers
Career Transition For Dancers maintains comprehensive resource centers in both the New York City and Los Angeles offices, each of which contains books, directories, guides and reference materials on a wide variety of educational guidance, career-change and job search subjects. Videotapes of Career Conversations are also available to dancers who cannot attend them all, and for general review. The resource centers in both the New York City and Los Angeles offices are open during business hours, Monday through Friday.
